  • Cold Fur Storage

Always store your fur during the warm spring and summer months. Keeping garments at home during the summer could be a very costly mistake. Both standard and cedar closets are not suitable for storage unless equipped with proper air circulation, constant 50°F and 50% humidity to maintain valuable moisture. The smell from cedar and mothballs will adhere to fur, leathers and wool, creating lasting unpleasant odors. Cold fur storage is one of the most important steps you can take to prolong the longevity of your fur, leather, shearling and cashmere coats. Our climate and humidity controlled cold storage vaults provide prevention in the loss of natural oils and deterioration of the pelts. So the more time in cold storage, the longer your coat will last. Master Furrier John Pechi will professionally maintain and help ensure the beauty, long life and value of all your luxury garments in our safe, humidity and temperature controlled vaults located on premise, so you can drop off and pick up anytime.

  • Cleaning & Conditioning

Fur cleaning is not the same as dry cleaning. Your fur may not look dirty but cleaning is important to remove small abrasive dirt particles and chemicals and to add moisture and natural oils back into the skins. The Fur Information Council of America recommends that you clean your furs, fur trimmed garments, shearlings and even faux furs each year by a Fur Care Specialist and never a dry cleaner. Whether you wear them often or once or twice in a season, day-to-day accumulation of airborne particulates, dust, dirt and makeup can draw the natural oils out of the pelts causing the fur to quickly dry out. As these natural oils dry out, pelts become tender and brittle which can cause causing rips and tears. And if hairspray, perfume or food gets on your garment, professional fur cleaning will gently remove these and restore the natural sheen and luster of the fur. Master Furrier John Pechi personally inspects, cleans, glazes and conditions each fur by hand using his own natural ingredients (no chemicals), leaving your fur fresh and luxurious, and assuring you years of enjoyment. His process will bring back the color and stop discoloration of the fur and will be protected from UV rays. The glazing process brings out the natural sheen and luster of the fur, retaining a healthy look. The conditioning process will keep your leather soft and supple, preventing damage that requires repairs.
